Description
This is a classical bell shaped hoplite body armor, fitting for the 6th- 5th cent BC. The bell shape is more discreet than at the archaic period, and we see here the later anatomical cuirasses emerge with an engravings evocating the abdominal and pectoral muscles. Made of two halves joined by hinges on one side, it closes with pins on the other. The shoulder parts overlap, and close with two buttons.
Made of brass. Height 49cm, width under the armpits 36cm, 26cm thick. 4kg150.
